TOEFL


TOEFL stands for Test Of English as a Foreign Language (United Kingdom Language Test as a foreign language), which is organised by an institution in the United States named ETS (Educational Testing Service). The TOEFL is important for friends who want to learn or study to attend school overseas. This TOEFL is an indicator to make sure friends that comes not from the countries that use the language of the United Kingdom, in order to follow lectures well in countries that use the language of United Kingdom. The TOEFL is one of language testing models United Kingdom used to measure the level of achievement for those who don't use the United Kingdom as mother tongue languages (non-native speaker). Generally toefl used as one of a prerequisite to study abroad, especially the countries that happened to have english as a language of preface.Toefl usually also a requirement to pursue studies to strata-2 ( s2 ) and strata-3 ( s3 ) in that country.Pulled again, recently ( for undergraduate student strata-1 ) -pun toefl score is required to have certain as one of the requirements of her graduation.Likewise, in some enterprise pma ( foreign capital investment in indonesia has applied a mechanism recruitment or penjenjangan the increase in a career with dna-based toefl score.

These are materials that are often examined in the TOEFL test on the matter of Structure And Written Expression.
1.      Auxiliary Verb, Auxiliary Verb is a verb which in conjunction with the main verb to add meaning: Be, have, do, and all the capital, (can, may, shall, etc)
2.      Comparison, the Comparison is used to compare an adjective (adjective). There are at least three types of Comparision in English i.e. comparative superlative adjective, adjective, adjective, adjective irregular irregular
•  comparative: comparing two things, adjectively. People, an animal, noun, etc.Comparative using
more ( more ) and less ( less ).Which means, more

If adjectively. consisting of one syllable ( using -er ), If consisting of two or more words ( using more- and less ).Example: harder, more beautiful, less dangerous, an example sentence: ani is more beautiful than yuni

•  superlative adjectively. : comparing more than two things, People, an animal, noun, etc.Having
meaning: most

If adjectively. consisting of one syllable ( using - est ), If consisting of two or more words ( using most- and least ).Example: hardest, most beautiful, least dangerous, an example sentence: ani is more beautiful than yuni

•  Irregular Adjective: some certain adjective does not follow the above rule irregular.Known as the Irregular Adjective.


3.      the preposition, Preposition is a word or phrase that describes a relationship that needs to be
observed in the TOEFL test as follows:

•            between used to account for two nouns ( noun ) example: there is a discussion between a
 student and his teacher
•  while among used to account for three or more noun or a plural nouns ( prular noun ) example: there is a discussion among bill, jimmy, and john
• differences in, on, and at to show tempar the three having the same sense to indicate the place, but its use different
• in: showing places where there are big. Example: country, province police, city, ocean, etc
• on: showing places undersized medium enterprises.Example: street, coast, river, lake, train,    
   plane, ship, etc
• at: showing the places that are small in size: example: a corner, a room, a class, a building, a car,
 a bus, etc.
•        the difference in, on, at the time the pointer as
•        In: Indicates the unit of time. example: in 1992, in June
•        On: Indicates the unit of time. Example:Thursday On
•        At: show smaller time units. Example: At 9: 30 pm

4.      the Correlative Conjunction, the Correlative Conjunction is two conjunctions which are used as
a bersaman in a sentence. Often used for menyetakan exceptions and scope: some Correlative Conjunction:

1) Both…and, declared  2 parallel structure example: John teach both English and Match
2) Both…and…as well as parallel structure 3, stated John teach both English and physics as  
    well as Match
3) Not Only…But Also, Not only…but also: not only but also

The difference
•        neither: used before auxiliary verb ( + ) example: susi didn’ t go to the party, and neither

•        either: used after auxiliary verb ( - ) example: susi didn’ t go to the party, and tommy did

5.      Negative Emphasis, Negative Emphasis is a dignakan phrase to answer questions Chow and
often dignakan at the beginning of the statement. Included in the negative emphasis is not one, not until, never, never again, very seldom, very rarely
The structure : Negative Emphasis + Auxiliary + S + V
Example sentence: Not one book has been read to prepare his thesis proposal
Scoring TOEFL
Listening Comprehension. This section is to examine the test-taker's ability in capturing speech or language spoken in the United Kingdom had done. Conversational Media can come from a tape recorder, other audio media or even directly from a conversation between two people.
Structure and Written Expression. This section is used to determine the ability of gramatical participants test, including a writing language styles in the United Kingdom. Participants can choose the most appropriate answers to complete a sentence and also must find an error in a sentence.
Reading Comprehension. This section is aimed at knowing the test participant understanding of texts written in the language of the United Kingdom. In General, the participants are expected to test can answer questions about meaning, ideas, specific information and specific vocabulary found in the readings to be tested.
Test of Written English (TWE). This section is devoted to know the ability of participants to test the writing in the United Kingdom. In this test, the test participants were given a specific topic or theme and then asked to write about these themes. But not all test TOEFL TWE mengujikan, even just a little bit which put it as one of the test material. TWE score is given separately from overall TOEFL score. The scale of assessment ranges from 1-6.
